  • T'Pau

Saw T'Pau at the Jazz Café in Camden, London, Saturday 25th July and they were on fine form, Carol Decker can still belt out all the hits like you were back in 1987, the original guitarist was part of the backing band and the other musicians were all excellent too. Was very impressed.

I have the album Bridge of Spies on both vinyl & CD, they were 1 of a few groups around that time who had a few big hits before fading away.

Saw them at the Wembley Arena back in the 80s, supporting Bryan Adams. We were at one end, she at the other, was about the size of a toy soldier!

Bridge of Spies was the first LP record I bought. Apart from China in your Hands and Heart and Soul, there wasn't many songs I liked that much. Used to fancy Carol though.

            Re: T'Pau

They kind of invented a whole new style... kind of ...slow rock...
very dramatic songs and Carol .....so stunning
think she wrote lyrics to some of the songs... not too sure

An amazing group indeed. I always loved China In Your Hand - their best hit (and especially) when it extends mid song!

As great as a group T'pau was - they deserved much more sucsess I think!

I thought that T'Pau was literally Carol Decker's name.

Did they have any other hits apart from China in Your Hand? - if they have, I have completely forgotten about them.

Didn't Carol Decker earn the nickname "Black and Decker" for a short time?
