Re: One Hit Wonders
Bryan Adams had quite a few other hits, such as Run To You & Summer Of 69.

Re: One Hit Wonders
Somne of my fave one-hit wonders are Bryan Adams (abliet yeah he is a fantastic singer generaly but I just so loved his mega hit "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" but I do think it was a one-off in mega mega sensational hit terms! I thought Chesney Hawks "The One And Only" was really reallly good quality and that generaly speaking Chesney is a talented un-derated singer!
I recall looking for this song for the best part of 8 years easily in every shop imaginable from about 1992 - 1999/2000 then I think it was tewed up by the car radio! Still a great song though I think.

Nina had a string of hits in Germany, when I was stationed there. I think she had two here.Originally posted by remember View PostHow about:
Musical Youth "Pass the Dutchie"
Soft Cell "Tainted Love"
Vanilla Ice "Ice Ice Baby"
Nena "99 Red Balloons" / "99 Luftballoons"
and of course Chesney Hawkes and the aptly named "One and Only"!
It may already have been mentioned but its one of those ever present bloody songs in shops at Xmas time, Stop The Cavalry.

Re: One Hit Wonders
I bought the Annabel Lamb single, which was not the greatest cover it has to be said..
purely because as a marketing ploy/hype, it came with a free VHS cassette of the video!!

It's Immaterial were an amazing band! Their two albums, Life's Hard And Then You Die and Song are both awesome, they had so many great songs and deserved more recognition. They're also back together now and hoping to belatedly release their third album, House For Sale, which was due out in 1992 but was held back by the record company.Originally posted by Nicola1968 View PostJust thought of another One Hit Wonder - Driving Away from Homes - It's Immaterial !! Re: One Hit Wonders
Not sure this guy even had a 'hit', I remember it being it on MTV all the time around 85, but I'm sure it never charted. Anyway, the artist and song in question is Jesse Rae with 'Over The Sea'. I remember the video was crackers even for 80s standards, with Jesse dressed as a William Wallace-type Scottish warrior, running around America waving a huge sword LOL. He also has a wonderful but totally absurd song on youtube called 'Chainsaw', utterly bonkers.
