The number 1 single in the UK charts on the day I was born is a song I have never liked............

The Searchers with the track Dont Throw Your Love Away..... number one for two weeks in May 1964.

Dreadful song. ... but then I'm not that much of a 60s fan.

The song that was number 1 in the US singles chart on the day I was born ain't that much better ....

    Mary Wells and My Guy.....

Anyone who knows me will tell you it really should have been the song Born To Be Wild.

Unfortunately I was not so lucky. All you need is love and nothing against Lennon, I just can't stand the Beatles.

I had to look it up - Super Trouper by Abba!

Thank goodness I wasn't born 2 days later or it would have been John Lennon at no.1 and I can't stand John Lennon!

USA: Good Lovin’ - The Young Rascals

UK: You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me - Dusty Springfield

    Both songs are pretty good.
