Peri was annoying. The faux American accent and pervs going on about her cleavage....I didn't like the way the costume dept dressed her to accentuate things for the pervs...

Sharaz Jek was such an interesting character. In the book it describes his face as just lumpen flesh with scar tissue and just one eye left and a mouth hole. In the show it was so disappointing when they reveal his face finally and its a blink and you miss it moment...dead naff but the story was very dark. Every male character dies...very dark story too.

      It's Davison.

Well, actually it's Peter Moffet, but but he calls himself Davison...

I loathed Peri too, but as I understand it, the accent was real. She has duel nationallity and was brought up in the US. But yes to the "lets dress her provocatively" thing. Bit sad.

I also loved the Jek character. If he'd survived, he would have been a great recurring villan. Gable's performance was amazing.

This! It was an amazing performance, pretty sinister undertone to it. I'd like to see Matt Smith's Doctor face off against a villain like Jek.

I completely agree with this. Actually, Matt needs a really good villain.

I was chatting to a guy I've known since I was a kid who runs a local memorabilia shop about Cumberbatch, we both agree Sherlock's done him in...i.e. it'll be a bit hard to escape from. In an interview Cumberbatch did he teased he'd love to do Dr Who 'but not just one episode', meaning he'd love to do the role. I think he'd be brilliant but now he's done Sherlock comparisons are bound so its done him in sadly. Perhaps he'd make a great Master? Or perhaps they could bring back Omega as a recurring Timelord foil with Cumberbatch, but the problem is Simm eclipsed the role perfectly for the new series so someone new coming in would have to be even better and a recurring Omega would doubtless bring comparison with The Master.

Chris Gable was superb as Jek. He was a former professional ballet dancer so if you know this you'll see he had a fairly feline/balletic movement when he was Jek. My awful ex girlfriend said she thought Gable was 'gay'...(rolls eyes), I couldn't care less but I've read he was married. Anyhow, Gable suffered from chronic rheumatoid arthritis in his feet hence leaving ballet to pursue acting. He sadly died of cancer aged 58 in 1998.

I always liked Peter Davidson, he had a really great quality about him - his run was also consistently pretty good quality. I think he was also the unluckiest Doctor when it came to companions - the android, whiny Nyssa and the less said about Adric the better!
id say its my fave davison story.

i always felt davison had to many companions.
think he had 4 at one time for a while.

I can imagine putting on a u.s accent was very hard.
