Does anybody know what has become of Brookside Close, setting of the '80s TV soap opera? As far as I know it consisted of real houses, as it was deemed cheaper to build real ones than rig up a set (rather like Coronation Street). Does it still exist, and if so, it it still called Brookside?

Last time I saw a programme about it, it was still standing but all boarded up and over grown.

Looking at this, it looks as though the houses have recently been refurbished and have people living in them.

Re: What became of the Brookside set??
For a time after Brookside ended they were occasionally used for Hollyoaks.
Then they were sold to someone who went bust before they were renovated, so were in limbo for a few years.
I presume since then they have been sold & done up.The Trickster On The Roof

I am unsure - I don't know if anyone can confirm or not but did'nt the Parade of Shop's on Brookside Parade became part of Grange hill as well as Hollyoaks in time. I thought this was so when Grange Hill opend thir CLC in the programe, though I am unsure about this bit 100% as i was never a Brookside regular viewer much really.

I recently read that after being done up, they are now rented out to tennants. I can't imagine the new occupiers get much peace.
It's good to see the houses done up though, and I can't look at those new photos without the 'Brookside' theme playing in my head."We're the Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner!"
