  • Re: What old programmes would you like released on dvd?

The first series of Rentaghost was released DVD a few years back, but for some reason (poor sales, rights issues) none of the others were.

I know the later series aren't as well regarded, but were the ones I liked when I was young, & were still good to see again when repeated on The 8:15 From Manchester.

I would love Dogtanian to be released on DVD. I loved that show! All for One and One for All!

Amazon.co.uk seems to have the odd US import but it would be nice to see proper UK releases with region 2 encodings.

A few more I would like to see released are:

                Bionic Six

                Bots Master

                James Bond Jr.

                GamesMaster

                Batman (1960’s series)

                The Phoenix and the Carpet

                Finders Keepers (weird Australian show)

One that sadly isn't that I would love to see again is Pigeon Street. I always wanted to be Long Distance Clara!

I can't disagree with you there Those. I'm amazed that it's not already out.

One show that I never remember being repeated was The First Of The Summer Wine, a spin of The Last Of The Summer Wine about Clegg, Compo etc as teenagers.

As far as I know it's never been released on video or DVD.

So far there's been a couple of DVD sets of the BBC series with 8 episodes each, and another set containing the entire LWT series, but there's a lot more that's still unissued. A couple of episodes only survive as black & white copies, and one of those is of bad quality.
The Goodies is currently been shown over several nights after midnight on BBC2. Tonight's is the famous Kitten Kong episode, on at 12.15am. I missed a few. I only found out on Friday because somebody mentioned it at work. I recorded "Goodies and the Beanstalk" which was on Friday. I noticed that there was a couple of sequences which would be regarded as racist by today's standards, but I can't see why they couldn't edit those very short bits out so they can repeat it on TV more.
