    Hi George,welcome back!....think doritos are the same as tortilla chips which have been a mexican staple for a long time as for the branded doritos i dunno but my guess would be the 80s?

    I haven't seen them in Great Britain since the mid 1990s - the adverts (mostly seen in Children's ITV ad breaks in around 1990) had the cartoon character Chester Cheetah being cool with the slogan "it's not easy being cheesy".
