    Re: Tiger Bread

Thats looking likely, but back in the early 70's only huge multinationals could promote an item like that over here..it had to be made here as it could not be imported, but the big classic US sellers like Chevron petrol, Tootsie rolls, crackerjacks, etc, never made it here, so can't see how a completely forgotten (both here and in the US) loaf of bread could have??

    *groan*

Surely It had to be sold both here and the US.

Found yet another..again US. the badge has a makers mark of "Evans Baucom Inc", I assume this was the badge maker, as a search brings up nothing.
We are hot the Tiger's trail

Yay, hope they get back to you soon, the Logo, the colours, infact everything seems to be pointing in the right direction.

Have just mailed the makers to see if they recall it, or have a picture of an old packet

seems the US version was owned by FLOWERS FAMILY BAKERIES, INC.

Well both mum and Karen seemed to describe it in the same way as yourself, I believe mum said she could remember the advert "grab a Tiger by the tail" Apparently the tail was the tie/twist top.

As far as I recall.. long thin plastic bag with clear top, Tiger head logo on far left, red/orange/black slash across bottom of bag, striped top

I have mailed the seller to see if he know anything
Seems odd, We know a few US brands in the UK, but not many in the early 70's. Surely an item sold both here and there would still be remembered, but most people don't have a clue when I ask them about it.

But it's the same Logo you remember? Was Tiger the makers name? Damn!!

Something not quite right about this..the only other mention I could find was on another UK website for Celtic fans, so I assume it was available country wide..
but I found another two badges identical but again..an American seller, among other American badges

I think the badge we are looking at was for the US version of Tiger bread
