Its All Greek to Me

BBC Radio 2
Tue 26th Mar 1996, 21:00 on BBC Radio 2
Peter Polycarpou explores the world of Greek music and discovers that it's not all Nana Mouskouri and a load of bouzouki. Sitting under a palm tree on a beach, he surveys the music of the great Greek singers, such as Yannis Parios, George Dalaras and Nicos Karvellas. Spending the evening in a Greek nightclub, Peter finds out what Greeks eat and how they entertain themselves - and even takes the stage himself for a song. With music from Demis Roussos, Vangelis and of course Nana Mouskouri.
