Re: Favourite Jingle
Apologies for "bumping" an old thread, but these came to mind:
"Accrington Stanley! Who are they?" - Milk advert
"If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit, join our Club" - Club biscuits
"Good old Yellow Pages, we're not just there for the nasty things like a blocked drain ..." - various Yellow Pages adverts the best being the one featuring "Fly Fishing" by J.R. Hartley ("OH, my name ... yes, it's J.R. Hartley!!") - I also seem to recall another similar one with an old chap trying to find a signal box or similar for a model railway?

Re: Favourite Jingle
One of my favourite jingles was this one for San Pellegrino. I used to hear it on the radio all the time back in the '90s, it's a pity they don't use it anymore. There was also a version with a female vocalist that I can't seem to find. At the link below, click on "San Pellegrino"
http://www.myspace.com/erniemannix/m...grino-48637541
The stars light up the skies
But they can't hold a candle
To the sparkle in your eyes
Dinner at eight
San Pellegrino
The theatre was great
San Pellegrino
Holding your hand
San Pellegrino
Isn't love grand?
With San Pellegrino
I'm with you tonight
San Pellegrino
The moon is just right
San Pellegrino
Love's here to stay
San Pellegrino
It's always that way
With San Pellegrino

Re: Favourite Jingle
Still remeber all the words !!!!!
Way down deep in the middle of the Congo,
A hippo took an apricot, a guava and a mango.
He stuck it with the others, and he danced a dainty tango.
The rhino said, "I know, we'll call it Um Bongo"
Um Bongo, Um Bongo, They drink it in the Congo.
The python picked the passion fruit, the marmoset the mandarin.
The parrot painted packets, that the whole caboodle landed in.
So when it comes to sun and fun and goodness in the jungle,
They all prefer the sunny funny one they call Um Bongo!
you'll be singing it all day now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing, just 5 notes, but stays with you forever.Originally posted by ClaudineJones View PostFry's Turkish Deliiiiight.
Also, you can sing the words "Fry's Turkish Delight" along with the melody. Always the mark of a good jingle.
I believe it was written by Cliff Adams.
