Re: 80's songs you never hear on the radio these days
I was reading Stephen Tin Tin Duffy's wikipedia the other day. Apparently he was also known as Dr Calculus. He must have had quite a thing about Tin Tin!Originally posted by George 1978 View PostThe Thompson Twins got their names from the characters in the Tintin cartoon series, which makes the name Stephen "Tintin" Duffy ironic as well.

I like most of their material, but they seemed to lose their edge after Joe Leeway left.

Hearing this song really, really took me back a long, long time I freely admit to - no doubts!!

Re: 80's songs you never hear on the radio these days
I am listening to BBC Radio Gloucestershire online, and they have played Brown Girl in the Ring by Boney M - the B-side to Rivers of Babylon - I can't remember the last time when any radio station played that.
The story goes that back in 1978 a DJ was supposed to play Rivers of Babylon, but had played the B side by mistake, and the listeners loved the song so much that it was lusted as a double A side and the song shot right back up the charts and remained there until the end of the year, a total of 40 weeks.
Yesterday, I was listening to another radio station online, and they had played this week's chart from 1980, including Embarrassment by Madness and Banana Republic by the Boomtown Rats.
